A lovely example of the traditional cast-iron teapots known in Japan as tetsubin, this pot with its delicate, hand-cast, raised design in highlighted in blue is not only prized as a collectible, but also brews 20 ounces of tea perfectly. Its interior is glazed in enamel, so it won’t rust or corrode; nor will its stainless-steel infuser. To make soothing, full-flavored tea, simply spoon loose tea leaves into the infuser, pour on simmering water, and allow to steep for three to five minutes. The heavy cast-iron construction retains heat so well, it ensures second cups will still be hot.

The weight is ideal, being perhaps the only teapot I’m aware of that can double as home defense should you be surprised by…

great teapot! I am still rather new in the world of loose leaf tea, but so far i love the teapot. It looks great, and tastes even better. I kinda wish it could be heated directly, but i knew it couldn’t from the day i bought it. It looked really small when i got it, but it actually holds the perfect amount. Considering the price, I am not disapointed one bit so far. It took a while to get here, but that was to be expected as well. the teapot and cups came individually boxed (inside a larger package) which is…
