The Staub journey begins in Alsace, France. Rich in history, food, and craft, it is a region renowned for hearty one-pot recipes. Staub has been producing the best cast iron products for professional and aspiring cooks since 1974. A synthesis of traditional, modern and international style, Staub’s teapot brings eye-catching grace to the contemporary kitchen. Round design mixes Staub’s signature colors with Japanese accents. The soothing ritual of preparing and enjoying a cup of tea starts with a favorite pot to heat the water. Cheerful, inviting, and exceptionally designed, Staub’s La Theiere series offers tea lovers that special accompaniment to a quiet-time break. This large 1-quart version features a round body and flat lid that fit snugly together to form an interesting two-part pouring spout. Crafted of enameled cast iron for uniform warming and superior heat retention, the heavyweight teapot performs best at medium temperatures to bring water to a gentle boil then keep it hot for a second or even third pouring. The stainless-steel double handle is arched high for easy grasping and swings open on hinges to give access to the lid, while the matching finial accommodates several fingers for lifting. Available in a variety of fashionable colors that coordinate with other Staub cookware, this showpiece vessel is double coated for enduring looks and rust-free performance, and it has a smooth bottom that’s suitable for any surface. Each La Theiere teapot is cast in a single-use sand mold where it acquires its own subtle variations to make it truly unique. It goes safely into the dishwasher, though hand washing is recommended for heavy use, and it’s backed by a lifetime limited warranty. Handles may get hot so keep a potholder nearby. –Kara Karll

Love the shape Love the shape, the weight, and the color. Purchased to replace a non-ferrous kettle when I installed an induction stove. It does work on induction, but because the base is relatively narrow in relation to the widest circumference, it’s a bit less efficient on induction than a straight up and down cylinder would be.
