Amazon Customer says:

Not What We Wanted We bought this to fill with water and set on top of our wood stove to humidify the air. This product rusted out in about two months (the rust ate away at the kettle, causing holes and causing the handle to snap off), after becoming unsightly after the first use (it turned a streaky rust red). Buy only for decoration — not for practical use. Don’t get any water near this kettle.

NJO says:

The heavy construction should make it last for years without burning through and the handle makes it easy to remove and add more chips We use it for smoking on our BBQ. Stuff it full of wet chips and put it on the coals and out comes the smoke. The heavy construction should make it last for years without burning through and the handle makes it easy to remove and add more chips. Not your standard use for a kettle but it works fine.
