Happy Sales 3-Inch Mesh Tea Strainer hangs into mugs or tea cups to steep a more robust and flavorful brew. Easy to use. Simply fill the loose leaf tea infuser halfway with tea leaves, allowing loose tea ample room to fully expand. Hook the Infuser to the inside of the cup and pour in just-boiled water. Steep tea no less than 3 minutes to release its essential oils and maximize the brewed infusion with aroma and flavor. Once tea is steeped to desired strength, remove the Tea Infuser and enjoy the freshly brewed cup of tea. Great for steeping all types of tea, including black tea, oolong tea, green tea, chai, chamomile and other herbal tea. Use for mulling spices for cooking and baking, or making hot apple cider, spiced wine, and other drink recipes with mulled spices. Just fill the tea steeper with aromatic spices instead of tea.

Makes lots of tea, but lets finer particles through… I really like this tea ball for making lots of tea at a time–I make a gallon of tea at a time and this holds the several table spoons of tea needed. The only issue is that a little bit of the finer or broken leaves and powder leaks out so I use a finer sieve to catch the last particles. At that point I feel like I might as well forget about using the tea ball and just leave the loose leaf in the pot and filter it with the sieve…

Making tea in a coffee urn Update 12/23/13: So Iv’e used this every three days for almost six weeks and the little hanging chain fell off in the dishwasher, and worse, fell directly into the center drain towards the exit pump. Lucky I got it out feeling blind with a pair of large tweezers. Anyway, I do hang this off the lip of the coffee urn and the chain is attached with an unsoldered ring to the top of the ball; the whole arrangement just isn’t strong enough to continuously take the weight of the wet tea bags (24)…

Great for making ice tea with bulk herbs Great for making ice tea with bulk herbs. Just put a bunch of different herbs and teas in it, set it in a pot with water and bring to boil then shut it off. If you make it too strong you can always add water and put it in a very large container, (what I do). Then you can have your iced Stinging Nettle with Mint tea for a few days.
