Excellent tea strainer for loose tea This is an excellent tea strainer. When you brew loose tea in a teapot, just fit this strainer over your cup and pour your tea to catch any leaves that pour out with the liquid. Since it has a drip tray, you just lay the strainer in the tray to avoid a mess. It fits over standard teacups and mugs. I love it because it’s both functional and pretty.

Pretty and effective This is a great little tea strainer that you won’t be embarrassed to have on the table with your tea things. The mesh is quite fine so it does a good job of filtering out the tea leaves. It comes with a drip stand so you can set it on the table after using it without worrying about dripping tea everywhere. It is a tad small for my fancy large rimmed teacup but I just hold it over & it does fine. If you have a regular sized teacup you should have no problems just setting it on the mouth of the teacup. I’ve washed it many times and it has not yet rusted so I’m happy about that. The price here on Amazon is extremely reasonable so you can’t go wrong.

Attractive and functional I bought 2 of these tea strainers with bowl to catch drips and gave one to each of my daughters. We had used them at a tea house and my daughters had commented on the functionality of the bowl designed to catch the drips. The original intent of the strainer is to put loose leaf tea in a teapot and when pouring the tea out of the pot the strainer suspended over your tea cup will catch the loose leaf tea. I don’t bother with a tea pot. I just put loose leaf tea in the strainer and pour hot water over the tea leaves up to the strainer, let the tea infuse for a couple minutes, remove the strainer and put it in the catch bowl and I can do that multiple times before the tea leaves produce watery tea. We also just use the bowl to hold tea bags after they have been in the cup to catch their drips. Anyway you use it, it is functional and attractive.
