Pretty and Sturdy – With a Beautiful Sounding Whistle The Paula Deen Signature 2-quart teakettle in Butter color is very pretty sitting on the stove. It is quite sturdy – maybe just a little too heavy when filled with water. The lid is a thin aluminum, but in my opinion, not too thin, well made, and fits securely into the kettle. With a porcelin exterior, and a spout that stays open when pressed, this kettle heats water fairly quickly, and has a loud, beautiful-sounding whistle when the water boils. Buy with caution Guys normally don’t review products such as this; I had to because no one points out it’s flaws that even Paula Deen admits to. This kettle is made of porcelain enamel. To quote Paula’s own “Important Safety, use & care information, overheating can make teakettles with porcelain enamel fuse to the surface of glass cook top ranges, requiring the replacement of the glass cook top.” She indirectly defines overheating by stating “your teakettle should be heated on medium-to-medium high heat only.”…
