Not Food Safe This canister set is also offered on eBay by the same company. On eBay they list a phone number and I called to find out whether the metal used was aluminum or otherwise. Great kitchen accent If you are in to vintage/antique things, these canisters will be perfect for you. They are sturdy, but not too heavy if you fill them with something. Disappointed in quality I was very disappointed when I received this product. From the description it was not what I expected. They were listed as metal with labels. I assumed the labels were painted on or etched into the metal. They were not. The labels are paper. No way would they ever hold up to being cleaned. This was a Christmas gift which my sister will never receive. No sense in us both being disappointed.
