This tea is one of our most popular teas. It is a refreshing, pleasant tasting tea that can be enjoyed many times over throughout the day. Some also find it helpful to drink “the morning after” a big night out.
There are many health benefits attributed to this tea because of its unique GABA content (along with all the other health benefits of tea) Some of the health benefits attributed to GABA Oolong tea (similar to GABA supplements) include increased mental alertness, a general calming and relief of stress and anxiety, regular sleep patterns, regulating of blood pressure, anti-ageing properties, contributing towards improving some skin conditions, contributing towards weight loss, contributing towards lean muscle mass.
The GABA content of our GABA Oolong is 180-200mg/100g of tea, which exceeds the Japanese Government standards set for GABA of 150mg/100g
The tea farm that we supply this tea from is in Nantou County, Central Taiwan. Elevation 400-500m (1, 300-1, 600ft). The tea farm grows and harvests this handpicked tea under certified Taiwan Organic farming conditions and is fully compliant with zero pesticides. The tea plant varietal is Jinxuan Oolong – a special strain of Camellia Sinensis developed by TRES (Tea Research and Extension Station) in 1981.
