Tea Kettle This kettle does what it’s supposed to do: boil water and whistle loudly enough to get your attention no matter where you are or what you’re doing. The only problem I have with it is that the lip of the opening is a bit abrasive. Care must be taken when washing out the inside of the kettle. Disappointed I purchased this tea kettle to replace my Simplex Chrome tea kettle that I have owned since 2001. I ruined my Simplex teapot by cleaning the inside with vinegar and it stripped the tin lining down to the copper. OK but built up a lot of residue and rust spots This pot looks great. Over time it built up a lot of residue inside and dark spots on the outside. I don’t have a lot of experience with teapots, so this could be true of any pot.Outside of that the hardware held up nicely.
