Whistling Tea Kettles Are Apparently Difficult? I had no idea how complicated getting a tea kettle would be. After about an hour of browsing Amazon’s reviews on their various tea kettles, I was dismayed that all that I’d seen experienced severe problems and there appeared to be no decent solution. This teapot was previously recalled due to danger – do not use! I purchased this for myself for Christmas as I was switching to a french press. I assumed, based on the reviews and the name I was getting a quality item.Today, the third day I used it, I moved the tea pot off the heat – thunk. A chunk of the black plastic connected to the whistling spout lid, fell off. Never dropped the tea kettle – didn’t bump it – it just fell off.
