“Kyoto Japanese Tetsubin” not from “Kyoto”, not even “Japanese” — it’s made in China. & “Natural finish” is code for *rust*. There is a warning to dry the teapot *interior* after each use so that the teapot won’t rust, but there was no warning that the *exterior* of the “Natural” teapot has an iron oxide (aka rust) so-called ‘finish’. And so, the pot will continue to oxidize, and the rust will continue to rub off …. On your hands, clothing, & dish towels.
Kyoto Tetsubin 28 oz. Teapot. Before getting this teapot I would only make one cup of tea in the morning. Then I found myself wishing I had more, so I bought this for myself for Christmas. At first I was concerned that 28 oz. may not be enough, not the case. I get 2 – 3 large coffee mugs of tea from this pot. I love it, and the cast iron design will keep the tea warm for over an hour. Well worth the money spent, and the cost was less from Amazon then any of the Tea Shop around town.
Given as a gift and he loved it! I had a request for a cast iron tea pot with an infuser and when I started pricing found they were quite expensive. Then I thought I would do a bit more research and found this one. Sometimes price dictates quality but not in this case. I was able to give a quality gift at an affordable price. Thank you.
