This Cast Iron tea pot set is in Green Bamboo Pattern The set includes: 1 Tea Kettle (6.5″ D. 3.5″H), 20oz 2 Matching Tea Cups (3″Dia. 2″H) 1 Trivet (5.5″ D.) 1 Removable Stainless Steel Infusing Basket “Tesubin” Teapot Cast Iron teapots were first created in ancient China. They were later adopted and refined by the Japanese into Tetsubin: Graceful, elegant vessels for brewing and serving tea. Made of specially purified cast iron, they are symbolic of strength and unity. A coating of black enamel is applied to the inner surfaces to help prevent the development of rust. A removable stainless steel infusing basket is supplied for ease of preparation,. As with all “tetsubin” (cast iron teapots) this will brew a marvelous pot of tea and keep it hot for quite some time.
Even prettier in person We were concerned when we bought this that it would be REALLY green, like statue of liberty green… Luckily, the item is far prettier, deeper and darker green. It’s quite beautiful. It includes an integrated tea strainer, which is removable for cleaning, and sits between the lid and teapot. The strainer is high quality, along with the rest of the pot and teacups. This set is just as nice, if not nicer than, the fancy tea sets that we almost got suckered into buying from Teavana for…
