The directions say not to use it on direct flame because of the ceramic liner but I have been using it on the stovetop to heat water for tea and it has worked well.

It looks small but holds a lot of tea. But you have to understand asian culture. They donât guzzle down a 48 oz of tea at a time. They sip it slowly a little at a time thatâs why the pot & cups are so small (in reference to complainers of small size) Iâm loving mine!
