Works for what it is… I own a Cast Iron tea pot that I picked up in San Jose’s Japantown about 20 years ago. It is a thing of simplistic beauty that still looks as nice as the day I found it. I wanted an Iron cup to use with it and this one looked like it might be fit the bill. In many ways I was wrong.
Nice cup of tea Black Bamboo Cast Iron Teacup #TB31-BkA very nice-looking cup, it’s got a heavy ceramic inside that makes it easy to clean. It’s got a solid, heavy feel, and if you pre-heat it, it will keep the tea warm. Since it picks up the heat from the tea, it gets pretty hot, so I use two, one inside the other, for insulation.
Cup hot-tea lukewarm! I really like the appearance of the tea cup, but the cast iron would quickly leach all the heat from the tea making the cup hot to touch and the tea lukewarm to drink.
