Classic high-seas adventure set in the 1600s. The story follows a British sea captain who must go undercover, join a pirate band, and capture the notorious Captain Henry Morgan (Robert Stephens). However, Morgan is on to the ruse and is well prepared when the sea captain makes his move. With some scissors and glue, a good swashbuckler! In its full 97-minutes of slow-pacing, unnecessary scenes, and occasional cringe-inducing bits of acting, “Pirates of Tortuga” might be worthy of “Mystery Science 3000” treatment. She overdid it and why in the name of everything good she had a part is beyond me. Also, she must be related to someone and it seemed the whole movie was all about her and Ken Scott arguing. I wanted a…
