To lock the cap, simply close the top and slide down the bottom located on your cap.

Awesome bottle First off let me say these bottles are awesome. I liked them so much I had to purchase another. They are wide enough to put ice in them without spilling the ice all over the place. The first day I had to test it out for myself. Filled it with ice and water and just let it set over night. The next morning it still had plenty of ice and the water was ice cold .
