UPDATED & FINAL rating and review on 3/15/18: Jury’s out – worked great for a week, then started to delaminate. Original Review:Simple to use right out of the box, and the app is not necessary if you’re satisfied with keeping tea warm at the default 130F, as we were. Keeps a charge for about 90 minutes before needing to go back on the charging plate; battery life seems shorter than it should for a product in 2017, but it was working fine for a cup of tea.BUT – the jury is out right now on whether we will continue to use, as the interior of the mug began to delaminate after 8 days…
Keep your receipt and all the original packaging including outer box!!..you may have to return it or get it replaced. This is the second one I’ve bought; this one from Amazon, the first direct from Ember.The first one has delaminated an approximately 2cmX1cm area of ceramic inside the mug showing an area of metal. Not sure what the metal is but I’m testing it for Pb.They were excellent at warranty, sent me a new mug and I sent the old one in.Bought another one for my wife, she likes it.One of the mugs burnt a contact ring on the bottom, customer service sent me a new mug, I returned…
Keeps your drink hot, but it’s not perfect. I received an Ember mug as a gift. A perfect choice for me because I usually run to the microwave numerous times to reheat my too cold coffee. What I love: it does exactly what it’s supposed to. It keeps my coffee at a perfect temperature from the first sip to the last.What I don’t love: The handle is extremely uncomfortable to hold!
