This kettle won’t rust if you follow the directions it comes with The color in the photo is a bit lighter, brighter than the actual kettle which is a darker blue. The handle is smooth and comfortable but not heat-resistant (which the accompanying paperwork admits and suggests using something like a potholder when handling it). The whistle can be heard from a couple rooms away so you don’t have to babysit it.
Horrible design This thing is for show, not use….if you use it you need a hot pad to remove the ‘whistle’ so you can pour out the water. They are aware of this ‘problem’ because they even warn you to use an oven mit every time. It arrived yesterday and it is already on its way back today. I have never had a teapot that requires the use of oven mit or hot pad in order to use it.
Poor quality! I had great hopes for this kettle. It’s the perfect size AND the blue color was perfect for my friend’s kitchen. Sadly, when she opened the kettle, it had two existing chips in the paint with no apparent box damage which makes me question the quality. Then Amazon wouldn’t accept the return because too much time had elapsed between my purchase and the gift opening which makes me question Amazon’s customer service. Skip the kettle and get better quality elsewhere.
