Be safe. A whistling kettle is almost a necessity for the elderly. I’ve been using the pour-over method for brewing my coffee for almost a year now and find this tea kettle does a great job of letting me control the pour. The water boils quickly and the whistle has become a necessity for my elderly ears. I used to be able to sit in the next room and actually hear when the water in my post reached the boiling point. The tea pot is sort of a low and fat teapot that can take up a lot of space on the stove. On a large induction, gas, or electric coil heater, this can mean shorter times to boil the water.
