Nicely made product. The price has come down since I ordered my Kalita Tea Coffee Kettle Wave Pot 1L. I had felt that the original price over $120.00 was a little much but took a chance that the quality would be outstanding and I believe it is. The kettle is made from quality Japanese Stainless Steel and the workmanship is of high quality.Having bought a Chemex six cup coffee maker, I felt that having a kettle/pot that held the exact volume of water as the coffee maker was important. Perfect Pot! Like most purchasers I bought this “Wave Kettle” to use as a pour over pot for drip coffee. While coffee shops routinely sell it for that purpose, I don’t think that was the manufacturer’s original intent. The pot is actually a serving carafe for coffee or tea in the Japanese home market. Kalita makes a different pot specifically for pour over use, commonly referred to as the “thin spout”, though amazon calls it “Kalita’s Stylish Stainless Pot”. Kalita Kettle Pot I bought this after going around to a few stores, and finding only flamboyantly over designed and cheaply made steam kettles. Disappointed, I found this on Amazon. The Kalita is simple, well made, functional, and it looks nice on my stove. It works perfectly for making pour through coffee, which is primarily what I got it for. Of course it also makes hot water for tea, or whatever you might need it for. There is no whistle, which I strongly prefer. You can see when it’s boiling from the steam…
