Nice design and looks well-made Hefty weight and nicely designed. Interior and seams look good. Lid fits tightly. The lift spout works correctly – it stays up when you open it, and stays down securely when closed. The lift spout lever and the pot handle are comfortable and stay heat-free so you don’t need a mitt. Pours smoothly. Nice flat bottom sits on gas burner solidly. Looks great in this creamy orange color.

I hate to leave a bad review for the simple reason … I hate to leave a bad review for the simple reason that the description failed to leave out that the inside of this pot has some sort of non-stick coating on it. Otherwise it is a beautiful tea kettle and well built. And it would match one of KitchenAid’s Artisan line mixers well. For our purpose we wanted a tea kettle with no chemical compounds inside, and since we have no idea what the non-stick coating is made out of we decided to return it.

Larry D. Case says:

It’ll blow your stove top! It’s a beautiful quality kettle, but, only after you read the fine print in the manual do you learn that you cannot leave it on a hot glass stove top, or the bottom surface coating/paint will separate and bond with the glass top and literally ruin your stove top. Really KitchenAid? It’s a tea kettle! You would think that a KitchenAid engineer could figure out a solution and make this $70! investment worthwhile. This should clearly be cautioned in the Amazon promo before we buy it or have to…
