Perfect for gas stoves I am loving my new Pykal Red Hotness kettle! It has a wide base with a rim that works very well with my gas stove to concentrate the heat under the kettle. The silicone handle stays much cooler to the touch than the last kettle I had. The whistle is also less shrill. A lot of kettles I’ve used flung boiling water on my hand when I opened the spout, but, thankfully, the Pykal does not. The Pykal spout defaults to the closed position until the trigger is pulled. High quality tea kettle This is a really good, heavy-duty teakettle. I have an electric kettle I use for pour-over coffee, but when I make a pot of tea, I prefer a stove-top kettle. My previous stainless steel kettle is so light weight compared to this one! The only reason I gave this a 4 star rather than a 5 star rating, is that the red on the teakettle is painted on (or maybe enameled) and it slightly detracts from the look. Hot Water For A ‘Cupa’ This gem of a tea kettle boils the water I use for tea every morning. Having spent a great deal of time in New Zealand where having a cup of tea is called “having a ‘cupa'” this tea kettle is just about perfect for my morning ‘provision’. It looks like an ‘art-piece’ sitting on my stove top with its beautiful design. Th is may become one of the items I will give to family and friends as a Christmas gift.
