Oxygen is the enemy, not CO2. After writing an extensive one-star review for the Friis containers, because of their BS hype about CO2 being harmful to coffee, I’m too tired to repeat my research here […] , so I’ll just give my compliments.Oxygen and light are the worst culprits of staling-out your beans. The CO2 thing is just a matter of built up pressure in the bag, not a harmful gas. These are the containers you’ve been looking for! There are a lot of opinions on how to brew the perfect cup of coffee with two points everyone can agree on: fresh beans with minimal exposure to air/oxygen is ideal. So of you’re like me making a weekly stop at your local roaster, inquiring which single origins are the most recent roasted with the goal of brewing within a 4-10 day window of roast date. The lid keeps popping off… fixed it, see update. I really wanted to love this canister. The first one I received had a big dent and two deep scratches, so I sent it back. (The damage wasn’t visible until I removed the canister from the packaging, so I can’t blame the vendor for that). I ordered another one of a different color so they wouldn’t inadvertently send me the one I just returned. The next one looked perfect, and I actually liked the copper color. So I happily washed and dried it, and put my coffee in it. But the lid keeps…
