Very flavorful and extremely fresh. This is very flavorful tea! It is excellent hot and packs enough flavor to take the place of coffee if you are trying to cut back. I had this tea hot with no sweetener and savored every sip. My wife doesn’t do coffee, only tea and she loved this. Rich and earthy I am a tea lover who loves to try pretty much any tea I can get my hands on. I love loose leaf tea because you can adjust the amount of tea you use to create the strength of flavor you like. I have tried this tea both weak and strong. In the strong cup, the tea has a rich earthy flavor, stronger than your typical Lipton black tea. It has a bitter kick to it like coffee does. The weaker cup does not have the bitter taste. Great basic black This tea actually smells a bit strange to me unbrewed – kind of malty or fermented. So I was skeptical about the taste. I put some in my teaball and left it in hot water for 3 minutes (the packages says 3 to 5), added a bit of sugar and took a taste. It was delicious! It’s not as good as my favorite Earl Gray in my opinion but definitely drinkable and quite potent in that a small amount made a very powerful, rich cup of tea. The leaves expand a lot.
