Awake™, Black Tea
20 filterbags, Net Weight 1.7 oz (49g)

A perfectly balanced breakfast tea of bold character and depth, invigorating and satisfying any time of day.

Tazo Awake is a blend of fine varietal teas from two very special places.  Assam, near the Burma border in Northeast India, produces teas known for their dense, malty flavor.  these are combined with bright, full-flavored Dimbula teas from Ceylon to create a perfectly balanced breakfast tea that satisfies and invigorates.  You’ll find it to be far bolder and more flavorful than your typical breakfast tea.

The concept of being totally at peace with oneself originated around a teapot.

Tazo\ta’ -zo\n.[It, tazisto modif of Ba, tazor](ca 4786 B.C.) 2:  a toast to life popularized by Greek mystics in the third century BC .

At various times throughout history, Tazo has surfaced among the more advanced cultures of the day as an invigorating pick-me-up.  Legend has it that Tazo Awake was used by the boatmen on the mythical river Styx to help them stay alert on their frequent voyages to the underworld.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. Really. Bad. Tea. It takes 2 teabags of this to make a single 12-oz cup of tea steeping for 5 minutes. Overpriced and expensive tea — that doesn’t even taste very good and has no fragrance whatsoever. I’m going to post this review to every TAZO AWAKE listing on amazon.com that I can find, so others aren’t taken in by Tazo’s hype. (Purchased at my local grocery store. Not an expired package.)
