Founded in 1869 by Arthur Brook, developed his own quality blends mixing together various estate teas. This ensured a more consistent quality because, as with any crop, the characteristics of a consignment can vary according to climate, time of year and general growing conditions. In 1930 PG Tips was launched in the UK as a loose leaf tea in soft packs. It was originally called Pre-Gest-Tee” but soon abbreviated by grocers and van salesmen as PG. The company adopted the official name and added ‘tips’ to highlight that PG takes only the top two leaves and a bud to make its tea. PG Tips is a popular British blend of the finest Assam, Ceylon and Kenyan teas which produces a rich and refreshing flavor. The definitive traditional English tea. The PG Tips pyramid tea bag gives the tea leaves more room to move around than a flat conventional tea bag. So the tea bag works like a miniature tea pot. This allows for all the freshness to be released for the best tasting cup of PG.

My favorite black tea! A UK ex-pat friend of mine turned me on to PG Tips almost 15 years ago. I have always been a fan of black tea, but PG Tips brews a nice strong, clean cup like no other black tea I have tried. Typically, in order to get a bold flavored cup of tea with Lipton or even Twinings, you really have to over-steep the tea, which creates some bitterness. One PG Tips pyramid bag in a large 24 oz. travel mug for 3 minutes with water just short of boiling makes the perfect cup of tea. If you have been…
Sooo Good I bought this in bulk because it’s a bit cheaper than buying the boxes individually at Cost Plus World Market or other grocery stores. It’s becoming more widely available I think because people are catching on that PG Tips just really makes some of the best tea you can brew without spending a lot of money buying loose leaf teas from fancy stores. It’s robust, stands up well to a little milk and sugar, and just makes me extremely happy. If you’re sick of weak teas and want something that’s…
JUST SUPERB!!! An excellent full-bodied tea for everyday use. It brews quickly and gives the right amount of flavor and satisfaction. The pyramid bags do the trick. I’ve always been a life-long loose-leaf tea drinker, which tastes awesome but is quite time consuming and messy. As time went by, life has gotten busier, and PG tips was a godsend. I boil water in an automatic kettle and pour 8-10oz over one tea bag, steep for 3 mins and enjoy it with a splash of milk and sugar – amazing!!!
