The tea has an intense green colour, fuller flavour with distinctive fine-floating tea particles. Extra steaming breaks down the leaf structure releasing valuable nutrients such as beta-carotene and Vitamin E into the brew. Rich in anti-oxidant CATECHIN polyphenols. Popular in Japan due to its mild taste and extra health benefits. Long periods in the sun increases the anti-oxidant Catechins and Vitamin C content. Fukamushi Sencha is a milder and richer drink than normal Sencha.
Ocha & Co. was set up after a trip back home in 2011 and a fruitless search for quality Japanese Green Teas in the local health shops and supermarkets. There just wasn’t any! The aim of the company is to provide the same quality and range of teas you would normally buy if living in Japan. The teas come from a JAS certified organic green tea farming co-operative in Shizuoka where they grow and prepare the different available types on sale. Small batches are shipped from the manufacturer each month to ensure long shelf-life and freshness. The teas have been selected for the overseas market to strike a balance between quality and affordability and can found in high-end supermarkets and retails outlets in Japan such as Kinokuniya.

Marvelous Since discovering green tea and its benefits, I’ve become rather picky about it. I am very pleased with this tea. It is cut beautifully and has a fragrant green earthiness and a very lovely color with fine particles. I brew it in water not over 175 F, 80 C, and steep for about a little less than a minute. Heaven!

One of the best. I lived in Japan for many years and this is one of the only green teas that I purchase online here in the US. Loose leaf is the way to go. My personal preference for green tea is a product that smells very fresh when you first open the vacuum sealed bag. This one is also organic which is a plus.
