Oolong tea is partially-oxidized tea that is processed similarly to black tea. However, oolong tea leaves are withered and oxidized for a shorter time, which creates a sweeter, more delicate flavor than that presented by a black tea. To stop oxidation, the leaves are pan-fired, after which they undergo a process that includes a series of rolling and firing steps. Gaining more and more popularity in the US, Formosa Oolong tea might possibly turn out to be your new favorite! This full-bodied, refreshing tea has a fruity-sweet aroma and flavor to match. As with our other oolongs, it is good for various infusions. Give your body something rejuvenating while enjoying a flavorful cup of tea.

Oolong Tea Brewing Guidelines:
Water Temperature: 195°F, Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces, Steep Times: 1-2 minutes (1st infusion), 2-3 minutes (2nd infusion), 3-4 minutes (3rd infusion). We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn’t recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of the tea.
