More for decoration than use I got this because I thought it would be a beautiful piece to use as well as display. Based on research of Iwachu Tetsubin I thought these were functional iron pots. While it is really a beautiful teapot it does not retain heat as well as I would expect from an iron pot, even when I preheat the pot by adding boiling water for 5 minutes. Also, I follow the directions exactly and only rinse the pot and pat dry but if you rub to hard with a dry cloth some of the paint comes off making me wonder if…
