A big disappointment and filled with sloppy mistakes This book was a big disappointment. I waited so long for the follow-up to The Guestbook which was such a delight. And then this let-down. The book was filled with error after error after error. And the entire book felt like it was just cranked out! I am so disappointed in the author who I came to really appreciate after The Guestbook. The storyline was fine and it ended, of course, leaving us hanging in wait for the next book. Yes, I’d like to know what comes next, but not sure if I want…

A true let down I was incredibly disappointed in this book, especially after the first one being so great. I waited with such anticipation and then to be so let down. I know that books in a series have overlapping characters, but I also think that they should be able to stand alone, and this one doesn’t. If you haven’t read the first book, you don’t get enough back story on a couple of the characters and could be very lost or confused. Because of the let down, I have no desire to read the next book. You just know he smells amazing! The story hums along at a nice pace Hurst’s characters are richly drawn with intriguing back stories and lots of color. The reader roots for the protagonist (don’t want to be a spoiler and do the name thing) even though she is slightly flawed, which only makes her more endearing especially when we learn what drives her. Hurst’s descriptive style paints a richly textured picture of the little town to the extent you can almost smell the sea, the soaps, the flowers and clean shirt on Luke’s back. You just know he smells…
