If your looking for the real deal, quick delivery, good packaging, and a reasonable cost, buy it. I’ve been using it for some time now, it seems great, as far as i can tell it is real purple clay. You can even see the water slowly be absorbed by the clay. I do not think this is painted.
This Gaiwan rocks!! This Gaiwan looks just as good as it does in the picture, it’s the perfect size to brew small yet continuous steeps of tea. It would be considered “small” by most American standards, but after some research I’ve found that the gaiwan excels in steeping larger leaf teas multiple times, like oolong and larger green teas. I’m very happy with my purchase and Teagas, and I loved the small typed note they included in my box. I would recommend this gaiwan to anyone who has an interest in tea.
Great Value A very nice clay tea pot for the price. I seasoned the pot (as all clay tea pots should be) and enjoyed my first brewing of Pu-erh tea (the only type tea I will brew in this pot). The reason for (only) 4 stars is I would make a better assessment after time and see if the pot breaks in properly.
