The teapot retained fragrance after the first brew but I used a strong black chia tea blend. It does shine but still has the minerality of a clay pot which I consider a good thing. I will use this more as a decor piece versus a functioning teapot because there is a slight drip finishing off the tea pour. Worth it This is really very pretty and I like it a lot. The cups are rather small so I use a slightly larger cup from another set which matches the color. Also, the clay itself seems to dissipate heat. It appears that it takes longer to heat and the container itself gets hot in a microwave. I heat the tea in a separate pyrex measuring cup and pour it into the dragon. I think all this extra effort is worth it and I would definitely buy it again.
Great but small! I love this tea set. Unfortunately it is small. The tea pot would be like tea for 1. But its so beautiful – it arrived with no cracks. I think this would be great for sake because of the size. The cups are like shot glass size.
