Broke after 6 months I really enjoyed my 2 pitchers while I had them, but apparently their lifespan is only 6 months (with very light use). I filled both pitchers with room-temperature tea, and gently placed them inside the fridge. The last one shattered as soon as the bottom made contact with the shelf. After cleaning tea and broken glass out of my fridge for 20 minutes, I lifted the remaining pitcher only to notice a huge crack forming on the side. Thankfully, I managed to get it over the sink before it too…
I can boil a whole bunch of water and not worry about the container bursting – I don’t like using plastic pitchers FINALLY ! ! ! Defective after 6 weeks. This pitcher is great because I don’t have to use two different containers to make ice tea. With being able to pour boiling water directly into pitcher is very convenient. Also seeing that it is double annealed makes it very reassuring based on my experience as a glass blower. *Update * initially as you can read I was very satisfied with the pitcher but now after 6 weeks of use it developed a “y” shaped crack in bowl of pitcher. This happened under what you would consider normal…
