Not surgical stainless steel. Made so poorly the product is very dangerous. Dangerously poorly made product. Pieces of metal from the boiling chamber started coming off into boiling water almost immediately and I only detected it after a couple of weeks when I poured the water in a clear glass. Whistle doesn’t work well either, makes a half-whistle sound that is not piercing nor loud. Handle is also way too hot to touch after water has boiled. WAY too hot. And even worse, the little thin rubber handle bits are only partially covering the metal underneath, so one false…
You have found the perfect tea kettle After looking at the reviews for dozens of teakettles I finally settled on this one. Once I had placed my order I was questioning if I selected the best one after all, so I was eagerly awaiting delivery for the moment of truth. When I first took it out of the packaging I was very pleased by the size of this kettle. It has a nice wide base that is the perfect fit on the large burner of our glass top stove. As a result of the slightly over sized base is heats very quickly without any heat loss…
Plated handle… I’m not too sure what exactly is stainless… maybe it’s plated? Mine arrived damaged, with finished rubbed off the handle. Of course, no packing material around it, it’s not too surprising there were issues. But look closely at the handle — obviously it’s not solid stainless steel, as the plating rubbed off. And even more interesting — there appears to be ANIMAL hair sticking out of the bottom. Doesn’t exactly make me feel confident about it’s ability to hold water… Wow…
