Smooth, but not very smoky This is a fine tea, but while the leaves have a good smoky aroma once brewed there isn’t a great deal of smoky taste. This can be a good thing or a bad one, depending on what you’re looking for. Aside from the subtle smokiness, the tea has a nice smooth character.

It is perfect for coffee drinkers This Lapsang Souchong is exactly as it should taste, very smoky, very delicious with a a splash of milk. It is a shame this type of tea is getting harder and harder to find. It is perfect for coffee drinkers, who don’t care for the nauseous and bland flavor of most teas. I think it originally was popular as a hippie tea with a very oriental sounding name, but none of my Asian friends have ever heard of it. Asians that have heard of it calls it a western tea. not especially smoky I love lapsang souchong, but this blend is disappointingly weak and fades when I added even a little milk. For mild palates only.
