Great filter for cold brew I’ve been making cold brew for a couple years now. I originally was just using 3 regular sized mason jars, after which I would hand strain the grounds using 3 separate filters (I haven’t tried a French press or drip over method yet, so far I’m content with the immersion method). This filter has taken several steps out of that process. The filter mesh is very fine and only the smallest grit gets through and settled on the bottom of the jar. I do like to run it through my metal coffee filter one…

It does a good but not amazing job of filtering out sediment It does a good but not amazing job of filtering out sediment. I suggest not tapping out the grounds and it squeezing the sides of the mesh ever.To remove grounds, shake it into the trash and then rinse the remaining grounds into the drain.I don’t really wash it but once every couple of days, because it’s constantly in a rotation of brewing coffee. Well-conceived device makes a delicious brew Cold brew is a whole different world from any process using heat for extraction. Flavors are less acidic, more fruity and the caffeine content is robust. I have been diluting batches with 3oz water for every 4oz of brew.I’ve seen a lot of complaints about grit in the coffee and it’s true that if you have any fine grounds they can get through the filter.
